Our Eldership team

Ruan & Ina Slabbert

Ruan is the lead elder in First Love Church. He desires to see people grow in the knowledge of Christ. Some of His responsibilities involve leading the elder team, the church’s direction, pastoral care and preaching. Ina has a passion to see people walk in liberty and helps equip people to minister deliverance and healing. They are both involved with the Timothy Ministry Team, a bibles school of First Love. They have two sons and enjoy spending time together as family, with friends, reading and the scenery of our Valley with a good cup of coffee.

Kassie & Marthè Du Plessis

Kassie and Marthè have been a part of First Love Church since 1999. They met while studying at Tygerberg campus, where Kassie studied medicine and Marthè studied Speech Therapy. Kassie is a market place elder passionately serving the church while still practicing medicine. Marthè is involved in First Love Church’s Ladies Ministry – a ministry which reaches out to the women of the greater Drakenstein valley on a monthly basis. In their spare time they enjoy having breakfast, praying together in the garden at Paarl berg and walking on the beach.

Kevin & Lizeldi Samuel

This dynamic couple were married in January of 2009 with Paarl as their beautiful backdrop. They have been a part of First Love Church’s eldership team since 2010. Kevin’s responsibilities include leading First Love Church’s Youth Ministry: Chase, overseeing staff, administration & communication. Lizeldi is involved with First Love Church’s All Tribez Children’s Ministry, Chase Youth Ministry and pastoral care. In their spare time they enjoy sports activities, watching movies and eating plenty of Sushi.
